“Recognising that you are not where you want to be is a starting point to begin changing your life” Deborah Day
About Me
Finding the right therapist can feel overwhelming, and yet the relationship between therapist and client is the most important part of the process. Extensive research has shown that it is the quality of the relationship between client and therapist, rather than a therapist’s particular modality or orientation, that makes the difference. As we bring our rawest most vulnerable selves into this new realm, we need to feel met and heard with safety, kindness and understanding. My profound interest in and compassion for people, what it feels like to be them in the world and a drive to help people be the best they can be, led me to my therapeutic training.
I am a Metanoia trained and qualified Humanistic/Integrative counsellor/therapist, drawing on a variety of therapeutic models including Person-Centered, Transactional Analysis and Gestalt.
I hold a Bachelor of Science Degree (BSc) in Humanistic Counselling - Diploma Level 6.
I consider myself to be approachable, warm and reliable, with an ability to establish empathic and non-judgemental relationships, in a gentle, discreet and safe environment. Working collaboratively, I can help you explore emotional difficulties and provide understanding of issues that prevent you feeling happy and healthy, and reaching your full potential in every day life whether at home or at work.
Alongside my private practice, I volunteer for a charitable counselling service and have experience in dealing with issues such as: anxiety, low mood and depression, stress, low self worth, grief and loss, life changes, relationships and family issues, self-harm, eating disorders and alcohol dependency.
In my previous life, I have held positions in the corporate world, charity sector and have worked as a florist and flower grower. I love walking and the sea and embrace the healing power of nature.
